UCARSU WATERFALL
The Ucarsu Waterfall is 250 metres south from Lake Yesil, close to the small mountain village of Gombe in the Antalya province. This waterfalls flow in a direction to Gombe, joins Subasi Stream and then runs into Lake Avlan. Gombe side of the mountain Akdaglar is much cooler when compared to the west side that faces Fethiye. The walk to the best viewpoint of the waterfall might be a bit of an undertaking, it is completely worthwhile. There is a small lake, Lake Aygir that is located about 1 kilometre away from Lake Yesil. The waters that run beneath the lake turn into a natural fountain that forms the Ucarsu Waterfall. During the winter the waters freeze and the waterfall stops flowing. However, the streams on the west side of the mountain keep on flowing. While in the summer months the waterfall flows powerfully while the west side streams are dry. This waterfall runs all the way until October when the warmer weather doesn’t make this water source do more than just trickle. There is a restaurant in the resting area of the waterfall for some food and drink.
Other popular waterfalls that travellers visit while in Turkey are the Alara Waterfall, Duden Waterfall and Kursunlu Waterfall.
