DUDEN WATERFALL
For an exploration of the great outdoors a wonderful option just out of Antalya is the Duden Waterfall. About 14 kilometres away from the South East beaches of Antalya the Duden River spouts off the higher plateau of the Taurus Mountains. They are located in a luscious green landscape, surrounded by trees and plants. There are actually two separate cascades to this waterfall, the upper part has a deep gorge where the water gushes past. To get to the top there is a stairway and walkway. You can view the falls from above, walk in the gorge and the cave that is behind the cascade. Be sure to walk through this particular cave, known as “Cave of Wishes” and admire the natural splendour of the waterfalls from a backstage view. Heading back down the stairway you can see the Lower Duden Waterfalls, following down the area of the valley and walking alongside the river. After 8km the water then forms a small creek that then rushes off a 40-metre rock into the ocean below. The best view of the lower falls is by taking a gulet cruise and admire the flowing majesty.
Should you be looking to visit other majestic waterfalls in the area do pay a visit to either the Alara Waterfall, the Kursunlu Waterfall or the Manavgat Waterfall.
