OLYMPOS BEYDAGLARI NATIONAL PARK
The Olympos Beydaglari National Park was established in 1972 to protect and preserve the ancient sites that are within the park. The ancient settlements of Olympos, Phaselis and Idyros are all within the national park area. Located between the Pamphylia and Lycian shores this park has plenty of activities to do. West of the Taurus Mountains you will note that the area is made up of limestone and rocks. This lush forest is composed of rich pine forest and cedar trees, home to the local wildlife. There are bears, wild goats, wild boars, foxes, wolves and birds. What’s wonderful about this park is that it is a sort of paradise haven. The ancient cities that rest here have been embraced by the pure nature only available here.
Moreover, the national park caters to all tastes asides visiting the archaeological sites. It is possible to sunbathe at the beach, snorkel, swim, picnic and camp. While inland there you can go trekking, mountain climbing or paragliding. To get to any of the ancient cities of Chimera, Olympos Ancient City and Cirali you will be faced with a scenic route, the rich smell of the daphnia trees and the sound of the wildlife.
