Kabak
Should you be looking to get away from energetic Fethiye, make a side trip to laid-back Kabak. Just an hour away, it is one of the few remaining villages on the Mediterranean that hasn’t been overrun by tourists and development. Technically speaking, Kabak is not considered a village of its own as its population is so small. It is a neighbourhood of Uzunyurt. The government also protects the area of Kabak.

This protection has kept the area with its wild beauty, the crystal blue waters, lush forested mountains, canyons and even a number of waterfalls. Though your main intention for coming here was to do nothing but admire the scenery, there are many hikes you can trek from up the 700 metre high mountains or to any of these waterfalls. If you have are physically fit you can adventure onwards to trekking to the next settlement on either direction, following the Lycian Way. One can also get a jeep or arrange for a mule ride from the top of the mountain to get back down the valley.

There are several campsites in Kabak, a few bungalows and treehouse accommodations. Another curiosity of Kabak is that the Caretta Caretta Loggerhead Turtles nest on the beach. Their nests are marked during breeding season to avoid any visitors accidentally stepping on them.

Once you have recharged yourself in this serene place you can start planning your next venture, perhaps it can be Tlos, Yaka Park or Saklikent.
