Dolmabahce Palace

In one of the most famous parts of Istanbul, in a wonderful Besiktas, there is the largest palace in Turkey that Ottoman Empire has ever had. Ever since the 19th century, Dolmabachce Palace proudly stands on the Bosporus on the European coastline and defies time and those who want to surpass its beauty.

This palace is not simply a fantastic achievement that stands out in size only in Turkey, but it is one of the largest palaces in the world. Although it is distinguished by its appearance, it stands out for cultural and historical values which the palace represents for Turkish people. In this palace, even the last six powerful sultans of the Ottoman Empire carried out the days of their reign. Within its walls, a great warlord and famous Mustafa Kemal Pasha Ataturk spent the last days of his life. His death marked the end of a particular time for the Turkish empire. At a time when Kemal Pasha Ataturk died, they stopped all the clocks in the palace and one chapter in Turkish history stopped.

Today, tourists can enjoy during a visit to this imposing building. Paying the fee will not be a particularly hard part of your day once you stepped on the soil of this palace. The combination of different styles of the building makes the palace seems different, but you will be able to enjoy the alternation of styles such as Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical style. For the construction of the palace, the fortune was spent and it can be measured with a value of 35 tonnes of gold. It is enough to say that the palace extends to areas of 45,000 square meters, has 285 rooms, 46 large salons and halls, 6 large traditional Turkish baths (Hammams) and even 68 toilets. It is a short time to spend a day on a tour because that's not enough time even to look inside each room with the corner of your eye.

In addition to this enormous palace that overshadows all others by its size, you can enjoy in other, somewhat smaller, but still magnificent buildings such as Kucuksu Palace, than Topkapi Palace and the Ciragan Palace, which has turned into one of the most expensive hotels in the world.
