YASSICA ISLANDS
Yassica Islands
The Yassica Islands, or Yassica Adalari as they are known to locals, is a beautiful island cluster in the Aegean Sea. Boat excursions leave from Fethiye to this picturesque sea of islands. There are five different islands that make up this mini-archipelago. The biggest island has a nice sandy beach to chill on. The two main islands are on the southern part of the group, Haci Halil and Saytanli Ada, which is said to be the island where the Devil lives. He was denied passage into heaven so he chose to live at the Yassica Islands instead. Unfortunately passing between these two islands is impossible. There are sunken ruins that hint that possibly the islands were connected to each other by a bridge, making the passage of boats impossible. But in compensation, there is nothing better to do than to drop anchor and stay in the middle of these inlets and admire the incredible natural exquisiteness. Watch how the shades of the blue on the water transform as the sun sets, from the bright turquoise to navy blue.
These islands are so small and so close to each other that it is possible to swim from one to the other in about half an hour’s time. From this area, other great points of interest to visit are Sarsala Bay, Domuz Island and the exotic Cleopatra Baths.
