Phaselis
Once an ancient Greek and Roman city, the ruins of the coastal city of Phaselis is located in the Antalya province. During its time Phaselis thrived from the shipment of rose oil, timber and perfume. It was also an important trade centre between Greece, Asia, Egypt and Phoenicia even though it was not part of the Lycian League. Located between present-day Kemer and Olympos, it is the perfect spot to have your feet up in the air to relax or to take a dip at one of the small pebble beaches.
Inside the National park, there is a small museum, which you need to pay admission for, but you are free to wander through the rest of the park. There are three different harbours, the Northern Harbour, Battle Harbour and the Protected Harbour. There is also a ruined aqueduct of golden limestone, which is a reminder of the once-prosperous Phaselis. These structures date back to around the second century. Among them down the grand Harbour Street are elaborate Roman baths, agoras and theatres. Tour boats and yachts often drop anchor in the southern harbour for visitors to go a swim, eat lunch and a stroll through the ruins. But all the other bays have their own equipped beaches.
