LYCIAN WAY
Lycian Way
If you are looking to take a time-travelling stroll or a fan of a captivating hike you might want to take the Lycian Way. This long-distance, 509 kilometres marked hiking trail connects Fethiye to Antalya while following along the Lycian Coast. The main path is waymarked with red and white stripes while there are a few other standard signposts for side paths that are for sure off the beaten path. There are other options for how you want to proceed on your trail, taking the coastal route or the inland route but be warned that the trail is tiring so be prepared physically and with the necessary gear. It is recommended to bring a map, torch, lots of water and maybe camping gear although you can easily find some kind of accommodation at the villages.
Trekking the Lycian Way gives you an opportunity to experience the true Mediterranean Turkey, away from the busy beaches, swanky resorts and the posh palm trees. You will be able to create your own Lycian experience, composed of stunning views of the mountains across the Mediterranean Sea. All at your own pace!
Some of the highlight places you will trek through and worth a stop are Kabak, Patara Beach and Xanthos Ancient City.
