Koprucay Canyon

The Koprucay Canyon, not too far from Antalya, is not only a perfect recreational escape but is also scattered with nearby historical sites. The canyon emerges out from the Taurus Mountains and flowing into the Mediterranean Sea to the south of Serik. The national park covers over 36,000 hectares, including part of Koprucay and the ancient city of Selge. The area is home to Turkey’s largest forest of Mediterranean Cypress, rich in red pine, black pine, cedar, fir, and oak and wild olive tree. It is also home to a range of wildlife such as bears, wolves, foxes, rabbits, fallow deer, goats, wild boars and various bird species. The water that flows here is home to red speckled trout and grey mullets. The natural cold springs push up icy water that runs through the canyon and eventually flows out into the Mediterranean. There is the ancient city of Selge, a fortress on the banks of the canyon and ancient Roman bridges to explore in the area or if you want some action for the day there is also white water rafting on offer.

While in the area take some time to visit the Koprulu Canyon, Manavgat River and Manavgat Waterfall.
