Altinkum
For some, it is considered one of the best beaches between Boazcaada and the Turquoise Coast. For others, it is simply known as “Golden Sands”. It’s a Turkish name, Altinkum was once a fisherman village but now an upcoming resort town. With a view of the Aegean Sea and with other points of interest nearby it’s no surprise why it is a popular destination for European vacationers. Altinkum sits between the city of Izmir and Bodrum. As well as not too far from the ancient Temple of Apollo and the ruins of the ancient city of Didim. With a sandy bay, tranquil atmosphere, ample sunbeds and umbrellas for rent the prominent activity here is to bask beneath the sun.
There are three different beach areas, the First beach, Second Beach and Third beach. Along the length of this wide beach, there is an array of cafes, bars and restaurants to replenish your energy after a long pleasurable swim in the turquoise coloured waters. There are a few boats that tour the nearby coastline serving lunch or afternoon tea on board.

Other great resort towns along the Turquoise Coast worth visiting are the calm waters of Bitez, Akyarlar and Golturkbuku on Bodrum’s peninsula.
