DIM CAVE
For those that are already in Antalya, taking a break from the beach or island hopping can make their way to explore the wild lush are east of Alanya. The Dim Cave is the second largest cave in Turkey and estimated to be about 1 million years old. It was first discovered in 1986 and then opened for public visitation in 1998. Located just over 230 meters above sea level and on the western slope of the 1691 meter high Cebel Reis Mountain. This cave was known by nearby villagers but also hunters and shepherds used this cave in the ancient times as shelter. This natural cave offers many exploration points to visitors. The cave is about 10 to 15 meters wide and towards the end of the cave, there is a small salt lake. To start with there are two paths inside the cave, one is 50m and the other is 360 meters long. Should you walk down the long path, it is well prepared and illuminated so you can get a scenic view of the old and forming stalagmites and stalactites.
After visiting the cave you can consider visiting other wondrous caves around the region such as Karain Cave, Cimenici Cave and Kocian Cave.
