When Cleopatra married Antonius he gave Hamoxia – Sinek Castle as a gift. One of the many gifts Cleopatra’s beloveds has bestowed on her. This second-century castle is found in Alanya, Antalya. The castle grounds are full of Juniper pine trees. It is said that back in the ancient times that these trees were used to build boats. These boats were then taken from these shores and shipped back to Egypt. There is a historical fountain that should not go amiss on your visit. It is one of the oldest fountains in Alanya and the citizens in the area have named it as the Direkli Fountain. There is a path that leads to the castle and passes near the fountain. If you are still hyped with plenty of energy you should definitely try to climb to the top of the castle via the stairs carefully. You will be able to take great panoramic shots from the top of the castle. Or another option is the hike up the peak for a sweeping view of the castle and the Mediterranean.
