KARACASOGUT VILLAGE

Karacasogut Village

Sailing out from Bodrum and following the coast westbound in the direction to Marmaris will lead you to the port village of Karacasogut. Many other cruises will use this port for departure or as a meeting point. Fires destroyed the town back in 1996, but it has been mostly renovated and kept its status as a popular spot for those looking to escape the bustling city of Marmaris.  This quaint village has its own charm that you can soak up while enjoying lunch or dinner at any of the local tavernas or restaurants. However, out of town, there are plenty of activities you can take part in. One of the main ones is the Karacasogut Waterfalls, it is 25 meters high and drops off into a beautiful natural spring for swimming. There are also caves where you can take refuge from any intense summer heat along with some ancient sites that are scattered around the town. One of the most visited ones is the Karacain Cave, but there are also a few other caves with underground pools. Should your interest be in visiting any of these caves it is advised to hire a guide if you are an amateur cave explorer.

Once back on your cruise your next stop might be going to either Bencik Bay, Orhaniye or Selimiye.
