Damlatas Cave

Tourists that are already in the Alanya district of Antalya will make their way to Damlatas Cave. It’s so close to all the facilities of Alanya and just a half an hour’s walk from the Alanya Cruise Port. This cave was discovered in 1948 by chance by local stone miners who were building the harbour. There is a 50-meter passage at the entrance. The cave has about a 200 square metre area about 30 meters in length and 15 meters in height. After the passage, you will be dumbfounded by the thousands year old semi-crystallised limestone stalactite and stalagmites. These structures date back as far as the Permian period. These prominent structures have various colours projecting such a unique view. Just outside the cave, there is a small marketplace and a beach to relax.

Asides from the beauty that nature has carved in this very cave are that the conditions inside the cave are beneficial for asthma sufferers. Scientists have analysed the air and found that it contains 10 to 12 times more carbon dioxide than normal air, high humidity and 22 degrees centigrade temperature and a radioactive atmosphere. All of these elements might help contribute to easing symptoms for asthma sufferers.

If this cave has opened your appetite to visit other caves you might want to make your way or ask your tour agent to take to either Cimenici Cave, Dim Cave or
Beldibi Caves.
