GOCEK BAY
This bay is possibly the trendiest of all bays on the Turkish coast. Gocek is an obligatory stop on a yacht or gullet tours because of its well-equipped marina and repair yard. The bay is also known as the Gulf of Fethiye, stretching over 60 kilometres it has numerous enchanting anchoring spots either for a swim and lazy afternoon or for an overnight visit. It is no wonder why this bay is so popular as it has grown to cater to all different needs for sailing travellers. There are many different islands and coves scattered that help shelter this area from storms or bad weather, making up for a smooth cruising spot. The bay is huddled by pine-speckled mountains while the water here is a deep azure. One of the simple pleasures that one should indulge while here at the bay is to stroll around the Marina and admire the diverse assortment of boats that are moored here. Big or small, luxurious or rustic, tour boats or blue cruises all in different colours. The waterfront is a great place to view these towards the evening, take a seat at any of the bars or the restaurants for a gorgeous evening view. A bit more inland there is a small market square where you can go hunting for some Turkish antiques, handmade crafts or hand-sewn carpets.
Gocek Bay is a popular stopover while here many travellers are either coming from or going to Bedri Rahmi Bay, Cleopatra Bath Hammam Bay, and Domuz Island.
