FLAT ISLANDS
Flat Islands
The Flat Islands are a cluster of islands connected to each other by sandy strips of sand hidden just beneath the surface of the water. It is a natural safe bay sitting between Fethiye and Gocek. The largest of this group of islands has a deep salty lake with vivid blue-coloured water. The visibility is so amazing that it is almost like looking through glass. You can wade your way or swim from one island to another, as the sea isn’t too deep. If you have children with you or want to simply wade in the shallow water, look for Flat Island Pool. It is a natural pool in-island and less than a metre deep.
The maximum depth is around one and a half metres. For something a little more active there is water-skiing, tubing and banana boat riding available. Along the shore of the biggest island, there are families that travel from Gocek town to sell pancakes and other varieties of pastries.
Should you be on the Twelve Island cruise, the Flat Islands will be one of your stops but at the same time, other gorgeous Turkish delights to see and experience do go to, Domuz Island, Cleopatra Bath Hamam Bay and/or Yassica Islands.
