CENNET ISLAND

Cennet Island
Cennet Island

Getting to paradise is easily done, especially if you are in the region of Marmaris. The locals know Cennet Island as Paradise Island. Its pristine coastline is a treat for the eyes and for your other senses. At an 8km drive out of town and just across the Marmaris Bay this island should not go amiss on your trip. Although it is described to be an island it is actually a peninsula, known as Nimara Peninsula making it accessible by car. The island has some exciting caves to visit; one of them is a blue cave with the bright blue light reflecting on the cave walls. There is a legend that if you throw a coin into the water in the cave your wish will come true. The other outlying caves are home to mystifying stalactites and stalagmites. The island is also well known as a great place for trekking with plenty of paths marked out for those looking to explore the lush pine forests. There is also a range of eateries around the island; most of them are located by the harbour.

After spending a day sunbathing and swimming you might feel energized to make your way over to Icmeler, Kumlubuk Bay and Ekincik.
